Fire Poker with Birch Leaf

This Birch Leaf Fire Poker is ideal length for use in a sauna or wood stove. Carol uses a Power Hammer to forge this broad, thin style of leaf with chased lines, which she learnt from Dave Hanson of Lake Superior Metalsmiths. While warm, the poker is dipped in vegetable oil, then washed and sprayed with a clear lacquer to prevent corrosion.
