In 2019 I had the pleasure of travelling to Finland to participate in two exhibitions and an artist in residence program in Kristiinankaupunki. This wooden village is located on the western shore in the Ostrobothnia region, nearing the Swedish boarder. I travelled to this specific location with my collaborator, and cousin, Tuija Hansen to visit the nearby village of Isokyrö, where our grandfathers are from. While participating in the residency we made new work together and I also created many en plein air watercolour paintings such as this one, capturing the ebb and flow of the Gulf of Bothnia.
This original painting, "Baltic Sea," is 15cm x 10.5 cm (5.9 x 4.13 inches) and comes unframed. All paintings are mailed in clear plastic wrap, to ensure they stay safe from moisture, inside a reinforced envelope.
